Despite the dominance of the Macan and Cayenne in Porsche's sales charts, the Panamera continues to enjoy robust demand, prompting the introduction of a new model. The third generation, teased extensively in recent months, reaches its climax today with the global premiere. The revamped interior, showcasing modernization, has already been revealed, and the final layers of camouflage are set to be lifted, unveiling an anticipated evolutionary exterior design.

Markedly more electrified, the 2024 Panamera is confirmed to present four plug-in hybrid powertrain options. Variants labeled as E-Hybrid will boast a larger 25.9-kWh battery pack, enhancing the all-electric range. Additionally, an upgraded electric motor integrated into the eight-speed, dual-clutch automatic gearbox will feature in these models. At launch, the new generation is expected to generate around 650 hp from a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 combined with an e-motor in its most potent configuration.

V6 versions of the Panamera will also be available, with all combustion engines designed to comply with the upcoming Euro 7 standard. Some will incorporate electrification, while others will skip hybridization, providing customers with a range of choices. Anticipated at the pinnacle is the Turbo S E-Hybrid, likely to boast substantial power, given the flagship Cayenne already packs an impressive 729 hp.

Distinguishing the Turbo models will be an updated Porsche crest featuring a distinctive gray finish named "Turbonite." Engineers have also focused on enhancing air suspensions, introducing two-valve shock absorbers that benefit independent compression and rebound. An optional active damper control will be available at an additional cost.

Porsche envisions that electric vehicles (EVs) will constitute over 80 percent of annual deliveries by 2030, signaling that this Panamera will likely be the final combustion engine variant. This aligns with the confirmed EV-only status of the next-generation Macan, Cayenne, and 718 Boxster/Cayman. Even the larger three-row SUV, slated for the latter half of the decade, will not offer combustion engines.
