Wuling Launches Bingo Electric Hatchback in Indonesia

Chinese automaker Wuling has introduced its latest electric vehicle, the Bingo, in the Indonesian market. Following the success of the Wuling Air EV, this marks the second locally produced offering by the company.

Impressive Pre-Order Numbers

With a price range of 358 million to 408 million Indonesian rupiah (approximately $23,100 to $26,300), blind ordering for the Wuling Bingo EV began on November 16. Within just one month, the company reported surpassing 3,000 units in pre-orders, surpassing the prior record set by the Wuling Air EV with 2,000 pre-sale orders for new energy vehicles in Indonesia. This achievement underscores the growing interest among consumers in the region towards electric mobility.

Specifications and Dimensions
The four-door hatchback boasts dimensions of 3,950/1,708/1,580 mm and a wheelbase of 2,560 mm. In a comparison with the new Swift, measuring 3,855/1,695/1,495 mm with a 2,450 mm wheelbase, the Bingo emerges as larger in every aspect.

Two Variants for Indonesian Market

Wuling offers two variants of the Bingo for the Indonesian market. The first variant, known as Long Range, features a range of up to 333 km, powered by a 31.9 kWh battery. Meanwhile, the second variant, named Premium Range, offers a range of up to 410 km, driven by a 37.9 kWh battery pack. Both variants are equipped with the same 50 kW electric motor.

Wuling's Dominance in Indonesia

Having secured a significant market share, Wuling Indonesia has positioned itself as a leading manufacturer of New Energy Vehicles in the country. Accounting for more than half of the market share, the company continues to play a pivotal role in the growing electric vehicle landscape.
