Xiaomi is set to unveil its next electric vehicle, the YU7 SUV, in the middle of 2025. Boldly stepping into the electric vehicle arena, this new model will follow in the footsteps of the SU7 and aims to take on competitors like Tesla's Model Y.

Regulatory documents have uncovered key specs about performance, battery life, and size, sparking excitement among fans of electric cars.

The YU7 will come in two configurations: a single-motor rear-wheel drive (RWD) version and a dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) version. The RWD model boasts a 315 horsepower motor, while the AWD variant pairs a 295 horsepower front motor with a 386 horsepower rear motor, summing up to 681 horsepower. The AWD's top speed clocks in at 253 km/h, with the RWD hitting 240 km/h.

This makes it a mid-to-large SUV, akin to a blend between Tesla's Model X and Model Y, offering generous space inside and for luggage. The design is expected to be both modern and functional, showcasing Xiaomi's unique blend of tech and utility.

Xiaomi has packed the YU7 with cutting-edge technology, including a roof-mounted LiDAR for better safety and self-driving capabilities. Inside, expect a tech-forward cabin with a massive infotainment screen for an upscale feel.

Although the exact pricing hasn't been revealed, the street talks suggest a starting price around 250,000 Yuan or about $34,700 or Rs. 96 lakh.
