Zeekr 001 Arrives in Europe: First Deliveries
Zeekr, the electric vehicle brand affiliated with the Chinese automotive giant Geely Group, has officially initiated deliveries in Europe, starting with the Netherlands. The eagerly anticipated Zeekr 001 shooting brake was handed over to its first European customer at Zeekr's delivery center in Zeist, Netherlands.
Spiros Fotinos, Zeekr European CEO, expressed immense pride in the Zeekr Europe team for making this milestone possible. He personally attended the event, emphasizing the dedication and hard work that contributed to this achievement.
The presale of two Zeekr models, the 001 and the Zeekr X mid-size SUV, began in June in the Netherlands and Sweden. Priced at €59,490 and €44,990, respectively, these models offer competitive options in the European electric vehicle market.
The first Zeekr 001 intended for the European market rolled off the Chinese assembly line on August 2 and sailed for Europe on August 25. Zeekr has ambitious plans to expand its European presence, aiming to operate in four countries by 2024 and establish an international presence in eight countries by 2025.

Zeekr already has direct-operated stores in the Netherlands and Sweden, with test drives of the Zeekr X and 001 available in both countries. Zeekr Europe, headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden, has designated Amsterdam as its "home of European sales" and plans to relocate 80 employees from Gothenburg to Amsterdam while hiring an additional 100 locally.
In a surprising move in September, Zeekr unveiled the performance version of the 001 called 001 FR, boasting 1,247 hp and an astonishing 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 2.07 seconds, rivalling the Tesla Model S Plaid. The 001 FR is rumored to make its way to Europe, but no specific timeline has been provided.
Geely Group, Zeekr's parent company, has already demonstrated success in the European EV market with brands like Lynk&Co, Polestar, and Lotus. Zeekr's entrance into Europe is highly anticipated, given Geely Group's solid track record in the EV industry.

In China, Zeekr offers the 009 MPV, which won't reach Europe, but there's hope for a rebadged version, the Volvo EM90, to find a place in the European market. Zeekr's impressive performance in China is evident, with 13,104 EVs sold in November alone, marking a 23% increase from the previous year. Cumulative deliveries for 2023 (January – November) have reached an impressive 102,752 units.
For European customers, Zeekr offers three versions of the 001, catering to different needs. The Long Range RWD with a 200 kW motor offers a WLTP range of 620 km, while the two AWD trims with 400 kW motors can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds and provide a range of 590 km, making them appealing choices for EV enthusiasts.
