2007 Toyota Passo not getting good fuel efficiency

Hey everyone,

I just bought a 2007 Toyota Passo 1000cc. It’s a nice car with decent space, but I’m not getting good fuel efficiency—only about 10 km/l according to the speedometer. Ive changed the air filter, oil, and oil filter, but it hasn’t made a difference. I also had the throttle body cleaned, did a petrol tune-up, and replaced the injectors. I even cleaned the spark plugs, but still no improvement.

I thought the Passo was supposed to be economical, but it feels like I’m getting ripped off. Is this normal for the Passo? What do you suggest I do?

For comparison, I also have a Toyota Premio that gives me about 11 km/l, and I’m satisfied with that since it has a bigger engine. I don’t use the A/C in the Passo either.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Most people don’t think about how aftermarket wide tires and rims affect things. Are you using the stock rims and tires on your car? If you have those heavy Chinese 185/65R14 tires on your Major Passo o r Vitz, it could lower your fuel efficiency. Also, your driving style plays a big role—try to be gentle with the accelerator. And don’t forget to check your catalytic converter, too!

it could be issues like dirty air filters, low tire pressure, o r needing a fuel system cleaning. Check these areas and ensure regular maintenance for better mileage.
