2009 Honda City 3rd gear problem

I have been experiencing this nagging problem in my manual 2009 Honda City since purchase. Whenever I shift from 2nd to 3rd or downshift from 4th to 3rd gear, it occasionally pops into neutral and occasionally grinds into place. Could this be a problem related to the gearbox, gear oil or clutch? I went to the Honda dealership and they told me that I was not pressing the clutch fully. I have realised now, that this may not be the problem. The problem lies somewhere else. Mileage is on the lower side with 5100kms on the dial. Should I have the vehicle inspected again? Thanks for your help.

Ask the HONDA guy to sit with you and let him drive. Whenever that slip thing happened then point that out and tell him to fix it under warranty if applied
