Advancer for cars with distributors

hey guys... so i go to this cng mechanic right, and he tells me cars with distributors dont need advancers and emulators.

is he right or just another hack???

waisay i have a vit oriel 2000 with no advancer or emulator.
performance is really erratic.

wont any of u CNG pundits help me out???
and any good cng mechanics on jami commercial in defence?

Well, the cars with distributors don't need advancer (where will you fit it?) as the timing varies with rpms manually, but some cars like old models of Santro Plus have distributors which needs no advancer but still needs Emulator as the fuel injection is electronic. For such engines you can vary the timing by moving the distributor clockwise/anticlockwise but then the timing on petrol will be disturbed so it is not recommended unless you run your car on CNG always...

I don't think you can run your VTI oriel without emulator as it's signals are needed by the ECU after the fuel cutoff and it is needed for the fuel cutoff too.
