Can a Damaged Fuel Cap Cause Check Engine o r Warning Lights in a Modified Suzuki Khyber?

In some Khyber models converted to EFI o r with aftermarket sensors, a cracked fuel cap seems to trigger a warning light. Is it possible for the cap to affect fuel system pressure o r emissions sensors?

Yes, if your Suzuki Khyber has been converted to EFI electronic fuel injection o r has aftermarket sensors, a faulty fuel cap can disrupt the fuel system pressure and trigger warning lights.

Why It Happens:

EFI systems rely on a sealed fuel system for proper pressure

A cracked cap lets air in, which confuses the fuel pump o r vapor sensors

May result in poor fuel delivery o r rough idling

Fix:

Replace the cap with a pressure-sealing cap designed for EFI systems

Use a scanner to reset the warning light after replacing the cap
