Can a faulty alternator cause the Honda City’s battery to die?

The alternator is responsible for charging the battery while the engine is running. If it’s failing, the battery won’t recharge properly. How can owners check if a dead battery is actually due to a bad alternator instead?

Yes, a faulty alternator can prevent the battery from charging properly, which can lead to a dead battery. If the alternator is not providing enough voltage to recharge the battery while the engine is running, the battery will eventually run out of power. To check if the alternator is at fault, measure the battery voltage with the engine running. If the voltage is below 13.5 volts, the alternator may not be charging the battery properly. A mechanic can also test the alternator output to determine if it’s working correctly.
