What are the early signs of a coolant leak due to a failing water pump, and where should owners check for leaks?

Yes, a failing water pump can cause coolant leakage. This happens because:

Worn seals o r gasket failure: The seals around the water pump can wear out, allowing coolant to leak.
How to identify leaks: Coolant puddles underneath the car o r white steam from the engine. Check around the water pump area for visible signs of leakage, such as wet spots o r crusty, dried coolant residue.
