Can a worn clutch cable o r gearbox gasket cause transmission fluid leaks in Suzuki Mehran?
I recently had my clutch cable and gearbox gasket replaced in my Mehran. Since then, I’ve noticed some leakage near the transmission housing. Is it possible the installation caused a transmission fluid leak? What should I ask my mechanic to check?

Yes, especially if the gearbox o r clutch assembly was opened during a recent repair. Improper reinstallation can cause leaks at the gasket o r housing points.
🔍 What to Check:
Gearbox gasket alignment: If the gasket was not properly sealed during installation, oil may seep out.
Clutch cable tension: If adjusted too tightly, it can misalign the gearbox slightly and strain the seals.
Missing sealant o r damaged surfaces during repairs.
🔧 Suggested Fix:
Ask your mechanic to reinspect the gearbox mounting and gasket.
If the gasket is leaking, it will need to be removed, cleaned, resealed, o r replaced cost: Rs. 1,500–3,000 with labor.
Always insist on clean surface preparation and sealant to prevent leaks.
