Can using the wrong engine oil cause high oil consumption in a Mehran?

I switched to a thinner engine oil 10W-30 in my Suzuki Mehran and now it seems to be burning more oil than before. Could the oil grade be the issue? What is the ideal engine oil viscosity for Mehran in hot Pakistani weather?

Yes, using the wrong oil viscosity can increase oil consumption. A thinner oil like 10W-30 may flow too easily in Mehran’s older engines, especially in Pakistans hot climate.
Recommended oil grades:

For older Mehrans: 20W-50 o r 15W-40 thicker oil helps seal worn parts.

For newer engines: 10W-40.
Always use a reputable brand, and avoid using oil marked “for motorcycles” o r multi-use.
