Can worn-out spark plugs o r plug wires affect fuel average in Suzuki Mehran?

I’ve been noticing a in fuel economy in my Suzuki Mehran 2013 model. Someone suggested I check the spark plugs and plug wires. Could these really have that much of an effect on mileage? What type of plugs are best for fuel efficiency in Mehran?
