Changing of Engine Oil in Honda City

Hi and Salam...i ve recently bought honda city 07. At the time of initial inspection at Honda service centre, the guy told me that there is no need to change the engine oil and filter till the 2nd inspection at 5000 km is not complete.. but i ve heard many say that one must change the oil after 1000 km running....please advise...by the way i ve already run more than 3000 km trusting the service guy...off course trying to save money....lol

Honda people say that you should change the oil after 5,000 km but look at the oil condition at 2500 km. It's almost dark brown. I change the oil of my 2006 steermatic after every 2500 km. And everyone should do the same.
5000 km is too long for our driving conditions
