City 03 (new shape), MAP sensor failure .... help

salam all,
my car's RPM is not stable,in idle it fluctuates between 500 to 900rpm. The problem started with CNG and now even on petrol doing the same thing, my mechanic has diagonsed that its MAP sensor is not working properly and need to changed, the ppl at honda told me itwill cost me around 9000 Rs for the new one, & that too expensive for me at the moment...
could i get help on how to fix teh old one or where can i get a cheap alternative, ...
i've tried to unplug the battries for more than an hour as someone told me that the sensor will reset itself but that has not helped much... so please help me, could it be something other than a map sensor..

manual trans. aroung 180k km driven,,
no problem with consumption or tunning what so ever...

It is possible that the sensor is just contaminated from age or use of oil saturated, aftermarket air filters. You could try exposing the sensor hot wire (once the sensor is removed from the vehicle) and cleaning it with electronic parts cleaner and low pressure air. Use appropriate cautions. Once the sensor is clean, reassemble and install and check opeation, you may be pleasantly surprised! I hope this information has been helpful.
