Confused About Car Registration Documents

Hey there,

I’m currently abroad and looking to sell my Suzuki Alto 2020 model. When I registered the car, all the documents were kept by the Excise department in Lahore, and they gave me a Smart Card instead. They told me the Smart Card is the same as the file, but I’m a bit confused. Is this how it’s supposed to work? Any advice?

I reached out to one of the excise agents I know, and he told me that excise keeps the records because they have to scan and save everything on their computer. After that, they return the original files to the owners. So, if you havent gotten your original file back yet, you can either go there yourself o r have a trusted agent pick it up for you.
