Connecting vacum pipes in corolla XE.

The corolla EE100 XE (model 1993 to 2000) has lot of vacuum pipes fitted around carburetor. There is a vacuum device fitted in every pipe which has one side yellow & other side red in colour. If any of the pipe is disconnected from both sides then it is difficult to connect it again because it is not known to a normal user which colour to be kept to which side. Does these two colours have any significance in connection?? & how to know that which colour is to be kept on which side in connection? Can any expert help??

another member has problem with the vacuum of his 86 corolla. why dont you leave this job to a technician who does this stuff on a regular basis then experiment urself
