Coolant Boiling in Toyota Corolla – What’s Wrong?

Coolant Boiling in Toyota Corolla – What’s Wrong?

Hello everyone,

After driving for a while, I can hear my coolant bubbling when I turn off the engine. I checked the radiator and reservoir, and the coolant is still there, but it seems like its overheating. Could this be a problem with the radiator cap, thermostat, o r something worse?

Any advice on what to check first?

Hellow Lubaba!

Hearing bubbling sounds after turning off the engine could indicate overheating, possibly due to a few issues. A faulty radiator cap might not be sealing properly, causing pressure to escape and leading to the bubbling. It could also be a malfunctioning thermostat that’s not opening properly, preventing coolant circulation. Another potential cause is air trapped in the cooling system. First, check the radiator cap for signs of wear and make sure its functioning correctly. If the cap seems fine, inspect the thermostat and consider flushing the cooling system to remove any air bubbles. If the problem persists, a deeper inspection by a mechanic may be needed.
