COROLLA ALTIS 1.8 2010 Knocking Noise from Under the Hood

Salam,
I travelled through Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8 2010 model and this car gave the sound like diesel engine. When I moved the car on gas, it gave the sound like diesel engine Corolla 2.0D 2000-2006 model. Engine oil is good and it traveled for 110,000 kms.
I want to know do all corolla models 2009-2010 give such sound like corolla 2.0 diesel engine o r these models give sound like refined Honda Civic o r Honda City. I do not have other same generation Corolla Altis to compare the issue of this car.
Please let me know what will be the problem with it. Is there engine lost, problem with piston slapping, crankshaft, rod bearing o r knocking. Please help me to explain the exact problem here.

Engine oil is okay. The car's 110,000kms driven...which shouldn't be a lot. The car was in the use of a guy in an embassy so it has been maintained.
