The 2NZ-FE is very responsive in the local Corolla, although not to the same extent as found in its Japanese variant. Much more agressive than the iDSI, however power to weight ratio may be a problem. Nevertheless, even withouT VVT-i, it provides ample torque and decent fuel consumption and I've enjoyed my GLi every bit of the way, 3 years driving and the engine is as good as it ever was!
