Corolla Grande RPM Surge Issue

Corolla Grande RPM Surge Issue

Hello all,

Im having an issue with my car where the RPM increases to 1200-1300 when I take my foot off the accelerator. Its causing engine braking whenever I try to coast. Ive already cleaned the throttle body and changed the spark plugs. However, my mechanic suggests changing the throttle body. Any advice o r guidance would be greatly appreciated. Heres a video link to see the issue in action.

Dont worry, its typical for this car. The transmission behaves normally at this speed and even engine braking is normal when going under 50km/h. Dont try to make any adjustments to it.

Your mechanic is causing unnecessary trouble and may suggest replacing a fully functional CVT. If youre not satisfied, consider taking it to the dealership instead.
