Cost of Engine Overhauling "santro"

Hello everybody,

i want comments on this topic please expert and already overhauling experienced members discuss.

i have visited the Hyundai Twin City motors at I-10/3 Islamabad, they told me that the complete overhauling will cost you Rs. 45,000 including all charges. is these charges ok for a 117,000 Km driven santro club 2002 model.

what is the cost of new engine?

what you suggest for me during overhauling, what should i take care of? and what should i personally do during the overhauling process?

which parts should i personally inspect and check that is there any need for overhaul? or they just .....you know.....

in simple words what should i do personally to avoid any loss of money and loss of satisfaction and the work is also good, also the problem is get solved.

Well if its decreasing oil that its time to rebuilt it.

45 is a lot bcoz ur getting the work done from authorized dealer,

In open market this price will come down to around 25 to 28 thousand if done properly and full overhaul.

Your prob can be temp fixed by changing rings and getting the valve job done. if this is done properly than this can last for around 2 years or more. cost should be around 12 thousand.

Ya ur car is touching 155km on motorway but its burning oil so it needs repair.

If you have a good mechanic get it done from him tht will save u money but make sure he done a very good job, otherwise pm me i can refer you to my mechanic the work will be very gud thats for sure but hes in pindi on peshawar road.
