Daihatsu Mira 2013 Eco Idle Engine Oil Recommendations

Daihatsu Mira 2013 Eco Idle Engine Oil Recommendations

I recently purchased a 2013 Daihatsu Mira Eco Idle, registered in 2016 and I am the second owner. The car has been driven 81,000 kilometers.

My mechanic advised me to use 20w-50 Toyota engine oil, but I would like to know what other options are available.

Which engine oil, in terms of grade and brand, would be best for my car to ensure a longer engine life?

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions and recommendations. Thank you

As a general rule, you should use the engine oil recommended by the manufacturer. For Daihatsu Mira 2013 Eco Idle, you can check the owners manual for the recommended oil specification. If its not specified, you can use an API certified, SAE 5W-30 o r 5W-40 engine oil.

In terms of brand, there are many good options such as Mobil 1, Castrol, Royal Purple, etc. Just make sure it meets the recommended specifications.

To make the engine last longer, here are some suggestions:

Regular oil changes follow the manufacturers recommended schedule
Use high-quality engine oil
Maintain proper tire pressure
Keep the engine properly tuned
Drive smoothly and avoid excessive speeding
Avoid overloading the vehicle
Avoid short trips and idling for long periods of time.
