Diesel Engine in Corolla

Have any of the fellow done some research on the 1ND-TV (1.4 D-4D) diesel engine being offered internationally worldwide and pondered what's stopping Indus Corolla to provide this engine in 10th Gen Corollas?

Is Euro 1V Compliance in some way a hurdle or they fear they are going to lose a market if they replace the vintage/time tested 2.0D engine.

I bet this engine would be better in all aspects including smoke emission , Horse Power , Noise and Fuel Consumption and i personally feel that the new Corolla Diesel seriously lacks in this area.

Please share your research/thoughts/Experience on the 1ND-TV (1.4 D-4D) Engine.

Sir it will cost more and it can be complicated for local mechanics.

Already the new 2.0D is more expensive then XLI.

Diesel prices are rising and sales of Diesel cars including 2.0D is hopeless.

My guess is that there will be no diesel variant in the 11th Gen Corolla.
