Distinguishing Between Corolla SuperECT and CVT Transmissions through Visual Inspection

I am interested in acquiring a Corolla 1.6 CVT transmission to enhance fuel efficiency. To ensure accuracy in my purchase, Im seeking guidance on how to visually differentiate between the SuperECT and CVT transmissions.

The SuperECT Corolla variant can be identified by the presence of labels on the rear boot, positioned beneath the brake lamp. Special edition models, on the other hand, feature an exclusive golden label. I am keen on understanding the visual cues that indicate the type of gearbox installed in the vehicle. Any assistance o r tips in this regard would be greatly appreciated.

Ive observed that numerous advertisements on platforms like Pakwheels claim to offer CVT-equipped Corollas, only to discover that they are not accurately represented. Some individuals and advertisers resort to trivial explanations like its the option that appeared... which can be misleading. I attempted to seek clarification from Toyota over the phone, but unfortunately, their assistance was not fruitful, as their focus seemed to be primarily on making a sale. Its disheartening to encounter a lack of technical knowledge from such sources.

Its worth noting that the CVT transmission is available across various models, including Yaris, Grande, and now the 1.6 Corolla. In light of this, I propose a separate discussion thread to explore the longevity and reliability of the ECT and CVT transmissions, aiding individuals in making an informed choice.

Thank you in advance for any insights and assistance provided.
