Does using air conditioning AC significantly reduce Honda City’s fuel economy?

Running the AC, especially in Pakistan’s hot weather, puts extra load on the engine. How much does AC usage affect fuel consumption, and are there ways to use AC efficiently without drastically reducing mileage?

Using air conditioning in a Honda City, especially in Pakistans hot climate, can reduce fuel efficiency. Running the AC puts additional load on the engine, requiring more power to operate the compressor, which in turn consumes more fuel. While the exact impact varies, it can result in a noticeable decrease in fuel economy, especially in stop-and-go traffic. To use the AC efficiently, drivers can turn it off when idling, use the vehicle’s ventilation system when possible, o r use the AC on a lower setting. In extremely hot weather, it’s also more efficient to use the AC once the vehicle is in motion, rather than running it while idling.
