Honda City Very Bad Fuel Average Help!
Honda City Very Bad Fuel Average Help!
Ive got a 2016 Honda City 1.3 auto, bought brand new. But the city fuel efficiency has been disappointing since the beginning. I measure consumption by tank fill-ups, not the odometer. My short city drives give me less than 7 km/l, way lower than expected.
Although Ive only clocked around 45,000 km since 2016, longer trips yield 13-14 km/l. Tried changing spark plugs, new Yokohama tires, tuning, and cat cleaning, but no luck. Other cars do fine on the same pump. Need a skilled Lahore DHA mechanic to diagnose. Timely oil changes, genuine air filters. Appreciate your help!

Hey, you need to make sure the spark plug gap for your City is set at 1.3mm. Also, have you completed the idle learning process? Heres what you do: when your car is at its ideal temperature, disconnect the battery terminal for about 2-3 minutes. Then, reconnect it and start the car without turning on the radio, tape, AC, etc. Let the radiator fan cycle on and off twice before you shut off the car after about 10 minutes of running.
Once youve done that, let me know how it goes. By the way, Ive got a similar car, a 2010 model with around 110k kilometers on it, and Im in Karachi too. It gets about 10 km per liter with AC on and around 11.4 km per liter without using the AC.
