Symptoms of a Failing Fuel Pump:

Sputtering and Hesitation: A weak fuel pump may fail to deliver consistent fuel pressure to the engine, causing sputtering, particularly under acceleration o r during high-demand situations.
Stalling: The engine may stall intermittently, especially when idling o r after driving for a while.
Hard Starting: Difficulty in starting the car, especially in the morning, can also indicate a failing fuel pump.

Testing the Fuel System:

Use a fuel pressure gauge to measure the fuel pressure. If it’s below the recommended level, the fuel pump might be the culprit.
If sputtering persists despite addressing other issues, the fuel pump should be inspected and replaced if necessary.
