How can Honda City owners in Pakistan distinguish between a bad starter motor and a weak car battery?

Many starting issues arise due to battery problems. How can owners identify whether the issue is with the battery, alternator, o r starter motor? Are there any DIY methods to confirm a starter motor failure?

If the issue is with the battery, the car may show signs of dim lights o r weak power when starting. In contrast, a faulty starter motor usually causes a clicking sound o r slow engine turnover. DIY checks like using a multimeter to check battery voltage o r testing the alternator can help differentiate the issue. If the battery voltage is normal and the car still won’t start with a clicking sound, the starter motor is likely the issue.
