How do worn brake pads affect the overall braking system of a Toyota Camry?

Brake pads are just one part of the braking system. When they wear out, they can damage other components like rotors and calipers. How does driving with worn brake pads impact the entire braking system, and what are the potential repair costs?

When brake pads are worn out, they can cause damage to other braking system components, such as the brake rotors and calipers. Worn pads cause metal-to-metal contact with the rotors, leading to deep grooves o r scoring, which reduces the effectiveness of braking and can make it more expensive to replace the rotors. Damaged rotors can also result in vibration, poor braking performance, and a noisy braking system. Ignoring worn brake pads can escalate the repair costs, as rotor replacement and caliper repairs are more expensive than just replacing the pads.
