How to Reducing Cabin Noise in GLI 2013

I just got a 2013 GLI with a manual 1.3 engine, and there’s a lot of noise inside while driving. I’ve put on new tires, a new suspension, and a new steering box, and the alignment is fine.

The noise seems to be from the tires and air getting in. My mechanic thinks it’s because of old door seals, and a locksmith said the door locks might need to be replaced, but he wasn’t sure if that would help.

I looked for new door seals, but they’re hard to find and the ones available aren’t great quality. Some people suggested adding insulation inside, but I’m not sure if that would work. I also feel some engine heat in the cabin. I’d love some advice on fixing these issues!

I wouldn’t recommend buying aftermarket weatherproofing for your car. I made that mistake with my Jeep and quickly switched back to the original rubbers because they’re softer and work better. Aftermarket ones harden quickly, making it feel like someone’s kicking your door when you close it. If youre in Lahore o r the Twin Cities, I can hook you up with someone to install firewall insulation to block engine heat. Also, if you’re dealing with outside noise in your cabin, that’s pretty normal for PDMs. Just turn up the music a bit and you’ll get used to it!
