Hyundai Santro Club 1.0 EFI 2004 Model & CNG

Hey all,

This is my first posting on this forum - Here's what I'm experiencing:

- I've had a Hyundai Santro Club Exec 1.0 EFI 2004 Model (on Petrol) for a while now.

- Progressively over time I have found that my fuel efficiency is getting quite poor. Right now I'm just about getting 8km per litre.

- I'm exploring the possibility of converting the car over from Petrol to CNG and had the following questions:

i) I've heard from numerous sources that this car cannot be converted to CNG and/or is very difficult. Is this true?

ii) I've not been able to figure out the reason why the car is giving such poor efficiency. Is there any reason why this might be happening?

iii) Even though I like the running of the car, and given what's described above, should I just change cars instead?

Thanks in advance all!

I have had no problem with my Santro Exec 2004 for the first 2 and a half years. It ran quite satisfactory on CNG with good AC performance (mind you, I haven't installed the EFI CNG equipment). But in March this year, the car started giving smoke and the performance deteriorated. Now after having spent quite a fortune on it, it has started running fine now.

I can give you a friendly advice, do not take your car to the Hyundai dealerships and sales center. Just buy parts from them and have your car fixed by a well known mechanic.
