Is a leaky transmission seal common in Suzuki Mehran, and how do I fix it?

A mechanic told me my Mehran has a leaking transmission seal. Is this a common issue for older Mehran models? How serious is it, and what’s the typical cost and method of fixing a leaky transmission seal in Pakistan?

Yes, in older Suzuki Mehran models especially pre-2012, leaky transmission o r axle seals are fairly common due to wear and tear o r poor quality rubber parts.

⚙️ Common Leaking Points:
Input shaft seal

Output shaft seal axle area

Gear selector seal

🔧 Fix & Cost:
Replacing any one seal usually costs around Rs. 800–1,200 part + Rs. 1,000–1,500 labor.

Make sure the mechanic uses a quality Japanese seal instead of a cheap local rubber alternative.

Always refill gear oil after replacing seals to prevent gear damage.
