Landcruiser Prado Problem

Guys i have 96 prado diesel (1KZ-TE). Recently the car was making lots of rattling or rather shaking of of dash board etc. i went to 'DORA' a shock mechanic in saddar rawalpindi. he checked all shocks and said the front shock were hard n stiff.

so i went to part dealer and got two front shocks from toyota parts dealer in azhar shah market and got it properly installed from mechanic.

overall the ride has improved after shock installation in front and bumps etc are handled well. but the dash still shakes on speed brakers (cat eyes) and deep potholes. although overall the situation has improved after shock install.

could there be any other problem??? blancing and alignmenet are perfect. tyres are new pirelli.

are other prado owners facing similar noises.???

any help will be appreciated

I'd say the rear engine mount/foundation should be checked. There are some tolerances built in these things to compensate for engine/tranny shake but if ur car's dash board has started to virate than these should be properly checked out. I am saying about the rear mount because thats the part fixed to the firewall - as well as ur car's dash board. And no, u can't check it out urself by going under the car and eye balling the stuff. U'll see a lot of surface cracks on rubber parts but thats not a sign of failure. So better have it checked out by a mechanic.
