Need Advice for Buying My First Car

Hey there,

I hope you’re doing well!

I’m looking to buy my first car and my budget is around 10-11 lac. I’ve always liked the Honda City Exi from the 2001-2003 range with the 1300cc engine—Ive been a fan for the last few years.

However, a friend of mine is suggesting I should go for a hatchback like a Cultus, Alto, o r Santro instead. He thinks that smaller cars are better for first-time owners because they’re easier to handle and less likely to get into scrapes.

Even with his advice, I’m still leaning towards the Honda City Exi, as long as I can find one that’s in good shape. I’d really appreciate your honest opinion: should I stick with the Honda City Exi, o r should I consider the Cultus 2008-2010?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Maintaining a City can get pretty expensive, while a Cultus is much easier on the wallet. As a first car, you probably don’t want something that’ll cost you a lot to keep up, unless you’re ready to spend the money.

If you have the cash, go for the City. If you’re tight on money, stick with the Cultus.

And honestly, Id pass on the Alto, even if it’s free. I can’t say much about the Santro, but getting parts for it might be a pain.
