Power Door Locks Making Clicking Noise But Not Locking — What’s the Cause?

I hear a clicking sound from the door when I press the lock/unlock button on my Khyber’s remote, but the locks don’t engage. This happens on more than one door. Could the actuators be jammed, o r is it a weak power supply? Is this a common issue with older central locking systems?

A clicking sound without locking usually means power is reaching the actuator, but it’s not strong enough to move the mechanism.

Causes:

Weak Actuator Motor: It’s getting power but doesn’t have enough strength to move the lock rod.

Jammed Lock Mechanism: The internal door lock mechanism may be stiff due to rust, lack of lubrication, o r misalignment.

Voltage : If too many accessories are connected to a weak battery, the voltage might too low to operate the actuator fully.

Fix: Lubricate the lock mechanism with WD-40 o r silicone spray. If that doesnt help, test voltage at the actuator while operating the remote. If the voltage is fine, replace the actuator with a better quality one.
