~Problem with Engine Oil on Diesel Corolla~

Hello Friends,

I have 1984 corolla converted to Diesel 1C engine. I have been using Shell Remulla D SAE 20W50 engine oil for quite a while. The engine is getting a bit used now and gives a bit of smoke and consume a little bit of oil. I Recently changed to ZIC SD5000 SAE15W40. Initially the smoke emission decreased and the car pick was improved, even the Oil consumption has decreased.

But recently a very serious thing happened. When I started the car in the morning the Oil Pressure light remained ON for about 25 secs and then turned off, so I thought it to be transitional problem, but today it remained on for well over a minute and I turned off the engine immediately.

My query here will be is it due to the ZIC oil which caused the problem ??

The person selling the ZIC SD5000 oil told me that the engine may give some smoke on the first oil change but then it will settle on the next oil change !

Should I risk another oil change with ZIC SD5000 SAE 15W40 or revert back to Shell Remulla D?

Another friend of mine with Suzuki Mehran when converted to ZIC High Flow SAE20W50, his engine started to give white smoke when the engine is started in the morning!

Did any one else had a problem with ZIC oil? Is it really as good as advertised?

Your expert opinion will be highly appreciated!

Thanks!

have u checked ur eng oil filter, maybe its choked or not from a reputed company. even if its choked it should let its bypass valve open to make oil flow possible. if that is fine then next culprit'd be oil pump but those are rugged mech. sys.

ZIC oils are pretty ok, no issue with them if u get them genuine. btw which oil ur friend was using before pouring in ZIC. both of u are caught by ZIC syndrome
