Rings and chimtas average life

Hi,
my Mehran car smokes alot in morning and also its oil level is reducing.
its engine rings and valve seals need to be replaced. i will do this job tomorrow InshAllah.
i want to know how long they last? mechanic told me that its life is from 6 months to 1 year approx.
Also can some one told me what is the life of chimtas ? my Mehran chimtas loosed after 6 months. mechanic says its ok as local components have this life? share ur experience

Well if the work is properly done than this can last up to 2 years.

What you have to do is get the rings as well as valves changed. along with proper head facing and other components that needs to be changed.

Now normaly mechanics just put the rings while engine is in the engine bay now this a normal procedure but i feel the way my mechanic do it iis much better.

He takes out engine and cleans and checks everything and than put new rings cost might be 1000 or 1500 more but atleast you get proper work done. I know one corolla 1986 he put new ring in that car and its been almost 4 years still going strong. but that is corolla much better parts of that car are available than suzuki.

Chimta can last longer if your car is not main accidented and you are using original suspension parts than upto 1 or more years
