RPM Problem In Corolla Altis 1.8-2006

Hello,
I recently purchase a car Toyota Corolla Altis from my relative. Car is in very good condition, but seems to have some problems in RPM. When I hit 100kmph, the rev is on 3000 rpm and goes high to 4000 rpm on hits 120kmph only. due to this its creates alot of engine noise and affects fuel consumption too. Engine is having a lot of power and keeps on accelerating smoothly to 160 kmph but again the noise of engine makes it almost impossible to drive in high speed.
I visited 2 to 3 different mechanics and all seem to be clueless about this problem. even One of them says is model ka ye masla hai.
