Santro Blue Smoke in morning

Santro Blue Smoke in morning

My santro 2003 model, starts giving blue smoke in the morning and after few minutes it became normal. No prob in startup or any other issues. Milage is also fine. A very minimal amount of oil is reduced after driving it 1500 KM.

A local mechanic suggests that it is valve issue, and is not so critical to get it solved. He suggest to use the car as it is since it doesnot starts eating up oil, then u can get rings and valves replaced.

Any advice from the xperts would be highly appreciated.

There are two options for you man.

1: keep it as it is and take a 20w-50 Mineral oil (dont use 5w-x or 10w-x) only 20w-50, keep it till the car start giving smoke continuously so at that point you will open the engine at once and replace its valve seals and rings etc, so you will do a KHARCHA at once. the amount of oil decreasing will be reduce by using 20W-50 better you use ZIC as its API is SM.

2: change the valve seals which will cost you something like that.
Rs. 400 for valve seals, Rs. 400 for Head gasket and Rs, 1000 for the mechanic. (it is rough estimate dont take it final). so after this your car will not smoke your engine will not reduce oil, and the engine and tail pipe will remain clean and you will be able to use 10W-X OILS.

When 6 month ago i faced the same problem i used the 2nd option.

Hi,Santro has some manufature faults the oil pump has small life.Between the Milage of 70,000KM to 80,000 KM the "Santro oil pump in engine sump "suddenly stop working and car become over heated and engine get over heated and siezed..there is no chance to safe the car because it never show any over heated on gauge..The old Santro has auto protection system against heat and it will turn the engine off automatically for 20 min and safe the engine. But the local assemble Santro has no protection even the temprature guage is false...The over all is also expansive because you also need to change the sensors burn out during over heating..The T joints between pipes are made of plastic which also need to replace after averheating because it breakdown in the way and seize the new engine...hehehe..In previous 5 years i keep 2 Santro's and one is still with me.My also cosin also over all Santro twice..

So all you need to do is to see the milage and if it's above 70000 change the oil pump and fuel pump..and T for car heater...and may be then you are safe..for more protection put heat gauge of toyota...Make you car check on computer by Hundiye sales and service..insist him to check all sensors reading..
