Suzuki swift dx engine might need an overhaul

Hey everyone,

I have a 2013 Suzuki Swift DX with around 101,400 km on it. Lately, Ive noticed that Im losing oil every 2,000 km. I just switched to 10W-40 ZIC oil, but after driving 2,000 km, the oil level has ped to the middle mark between high and low.

I’m also experiencing some issues with acceleration, especially in hilly areas. When I try to accelerate hard, it feels like the car is really struggling. I took it to a mechanic, and he suggested that the engine might need an overhaul.

I’m wondering if that’s the best route to go, especially since I’ve heard some mechanics say that it’s a chain engine and can be tough to overhaul. If anyone has gone through an engine overhaul before, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience.

Thanks!

First, let’s do a compression test. You only need an overhaul if the compression values are really low o r if there’s a big difference between them. If not, the issue is probably something else. So, check the compression and let me know the numbers.
