Toyota Corolla 2.0D 2001: Need suggestions for tire size and rims replacement

Hello everyone,

I own a 2001 Toyota Corolla diesel 2.0D with 195/65/r15 wheels, which I believe are larger than the OEM size that came with 13 o r 14-inch wheels. Im experiencing high fuel consumption, and I suspect that the tire size may be a contributing factor.

Since my current tires are in poor condition, I plan to replace them soon. I have a spare wheel of size 170/70/r14 in the trunk, and Im considering changing the tire size o r even the rims.

Could you please suggest which tire size would be suitable for my car? Should I also consider changing the rims to 14-inch?

Thank you in advance for your help.
