Toyota Corolla Brake Pads Wearing Out Too Fast – Any Fix?

Hello everyone,

I replaced my brake pads about 10,000 miles ago, but they already seem to be wearing down quickly. I drive mostly in the city with some highway miles.

Is this normal for a Toyota Corolla, o r could there be another issue causing them to wear out faster than usual? Any tips to extend brake pad life?

Brake pads typically last between 30,000 and 70,000 miles, depending on driving habits, pad material, and braking system condition. Wearing out in just 10,000 miles is unusual and could indicate an underlying issue.

City driving involves frequent stopping, which wears pads faster than highway driving. Other possible causes include a sticking brake caliper, which keeps the pads engaged, excessive braking force due to aggressive driving, o r using lower-quality brake pads.

To extend brake pad life, avoid sudden stops, coast to slow down before braking, and use engine braking when possible. Regularly inspect calipers and slide pins for proper movement and ensure rotors are in good condition. Using high-quality brake pads designed for longevity can also help.
