Toyota Corolla Grinding Noise When Braking – Are My Pads Gone?

Hey folks,

Lately, I’ve been hearing a grinding noise when I press the brakes on my Corolla. I suspect my brake pads might be completely worn out. If they are, could this have damaged my rotors as well?

What should I check before replacing them, and is it possible to drive for a few more days like this, o r should I get them changed immediately?

A grinding noise when braking usually means your brake pads are completely worn out, and the metal backing is contacting the rotors. This can cause significant rotor damage, leading to deep grooves o r warping.
