Toyota Corolla Rust on Footboard

Toyota Corolla Rust on Footboard

Hey there! So, Ive got this 2016 Corolla Grande, and initially, the body was in great shape after a full service. But, over the last few months, Ive been seeing some rust on both sides of the footboards. Its pretty widespread and even causing the paint to deteriorate.

Im wondering if anyone could shed some light on why this is happening. I mean, the rest of the car seems fine its just these footboards that are giving me trouble.

Any suggestions on a more permanent fix would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Consult a professional automotive specialist to thoroughly assess your car for rust, paying close attention to the floor pans and undercarriage. Ensure they clean and repair any rusted panels, potentially requiring cutting and welding based on the damage. Oversee the process personally, as it can be time-consuming and meticulous, often not done thoroughly by professionals. Remember that rust can corrode metal if left untreated. Caution: Avoid applying undercoating over rusted areas, as it can exacerbate the problem.
