Toyota Yaris Power Door Locks Going Crazy – Locks Unpredictably
Hi everyone,
I’m facing an issue with the power door locks on my Toyota Yaris where they lock and unlock on their own. It happens at random times, and I can’t figure out why. I’ve checked the fob, but the problem persists.
Has anyone experienced this kind of erratic behavior with their Yaris door locks? Could it be an issue with the central locking system o r something else?
Thanks for any help!

It sounds like your Toyota Yaris has a problem with the power door locks locking and unlocking randomly, which can be quite frustrating. This issue is often related to problems with the central locking system o r a malfunctioning part in the door lock mechanism.
One possibility is a faulty central locking module o r relay. If this part starts malfunctioning, it can send random signals to the door locks, causing them to operate on their own. The issue could also be with a sticky o r faulty door lock actuator, which might not respond properly to the signals from the system.
Another possible cause is interference from a faulty o r weak key fob. If the fob sends erratic signals o r malfunctions, it can cause the doors to lock o r unlock on their own. In this case, replacing o r reprogramming the fob might solve the issue.
Finally, a wiring issue could be causing the central locking system to malfunction. Loose o r frayed wires could send random signals to the system, leading to this erratic behavior.
If you’re comfortable with troubleshooting, you could try checking the central locking module, wiring connections, and the fob. Otherwise, it might be best to consult a professional mechanic to diagnose the issue more thoroughly.
