What are the most common causes of radiator leaks in a Suzuki Khyber?

I drive a 1998 Suzuki Khyber and have faced multiple radiator issues over the past year. I’m trying to understand if it’s due to the radiator cap, rust, o r weak hoses. What are the usual causes of radiator leaks in this model?

Radiator leaks in Suzuki Khyber are quite common, especially in older models that haven’t had proper cooling system maintenance. Since many owners use plain water instead of coolant especially in Pakistan, corrosion and rust become major issues.

Here are the most common causes of radiator leaks in Khyber:

Rust and Corrosion:

Using tap water without coolant leads to rust inside the radiator.

Over time, this rust eats through the metal, causing tiny holes o r cracks.

Weak o r Cracked Radiator Hoses:

The rubber hoses connecting the radiator to the engine can dry out and crack due to heat and age.

A cracked hose o r a loose hose clamp can cause leakage.

Damaged Radiator Core o r Fins:

Stones, road debris, o r pressure washing can damage the soft aluminum fins, leading to leaks.

Faulty Radiator Cap:

If the radiator cap doesn’t seal properly o r loses pressure, it can cause the coolant to evaporate o r leak from the overflow pipe.

Overheating & Excess Pressure:

If the engine overheats frequently, the pressure inside the radiator increases and can burst weak spots in the radiator o r hoses.

Old o r Leaky Water Pump:
