Symptoms of Timing Chain/Belt Wear:

Timing Chain: In newer Toyota Camry models, the timing chain is designed to last longer than a timing belt. However, wear can cause rattling noise, poor acceleration, and rough idling. Timing chain issues typically occur if there’s a lack of oil changes o r oil contamination.

Timing Belt: Older Camry models with timing belts may experience issues like rough engine running, difficulty starting, and engine misfires. These symptoms often appear if the timing belt has stretched o r become too loose.

Replacement Intervals:

Timing Belt: In older models, it is recommended to replace the timing belt at around 100,000 km o r every 7-10 years, whichever comes first.

Timing Chain: Timing chains usually don’t require replacement unless there is significant wear o r a fault. However, regular oil changes and using quality oil help extend the chain’s lifespan.

Cost of Replacement:

Timing Chain Replacement: The cost of replacing a timing chain can range from PKR 30,000 to 70,000, depending on the labor charges and parts.

Timing Belt Replacement: Replacing a timing belt typically costs between PKR 15,000 to 40,000.
