What are the symptoms of a faulty purge control valve in Suzuki Khyber?

My Suzuki Khyber is showing signs of rough idling and a fuel smell when starting the engine. Someone mentioned it might be due to a faulty purge control valve. What are the signs of a bad purge valve in Khyber, and how can I confirm it?

A faulty purge control valve can affect your car’s engine performance, emissions, and fuel efficiency. In the Suzuki Khyber, although the EVAP system is simpler compared to modern EFI cars, problems with the purge valve can still cause noticeable symptoms.

Common Symptoms:
Rough idling – Engine vibrates o r sounds uneven while idling.

Fuel smell near engine bay – Especially after starting the car.

Hard starting – Particularly after refueling o r leaving the car parked.

Check engine light if your model has a basic ECU.

Poor throttle response o r occasional stalling.

Why it happens:
The valve may get stuck open causing too much fuel vapor to enter the intake o r closed blocking vapors completely, leading to pressure build-up.
