What are the symptoms of excessive oil consumption in a Honda City?

Apart from frequently needing to top up oil, are there other warning signs like smoke from the exhaust, reduced engine performance, o r oil leaks? How can owners determine if their car is consuming oil at an abnormal rate?

The most obvious symptom of excessive oil consumption in a Honda City is the frequent need to top up the engine oil. If the oil is being burned inside the engine, owners may also notice blue smoke coming out of the exhaust, which is a clear sign that oil is being consumed at an abnormal rate. Additionally, there may be a noticeable in engine performance o r increased engine noise due to poor lubrication. Sometimes, oil consumption is accompanied by oil leaks around the engine components like the valve cover gasket, which can further exacerbate the problem.
